Messie Jessie is the online outlet for Anglesey based artist Sue Grifiths.

Based on the small Island of Anglesey off the coast of North Wales; Sue is married to Tom, her computer geek and, they have three children – two of which are still in the nest.

Sue studied art and fashion illustration at colleges in Wales and London, before returning home to Anglesey. This island seems to draw you back.

Sue has been teaching art for a number of years, but now the family has grown up she finds she has the time to pursue her own artistic ideals.

With a love of textiles, illustration and craft she started a small business – “Messie Jessie”, taking its name from her eldest daughter.

Each piece of work is hand crafted and truly original. Sue works with mixed media, favouring collage and altered art. Being somewhat of a magpie her work frequently features found objects, recycled jewellery, beads and fabrics.

Sue sells her art locally but, looking for another outlet came across Etsy, with which Tom is now helping her to try and establish an online presence. The whole online thing is a new adventure and a blog has been started to record the journey. The blog features new art work by Sue, and photos not used on Etsy; it also includes comments from Tom, on their journey into the online world. Both Sue & tom post to the blog, in the form of an ongoing conversation, which we hope makes it a little different to your usual blog.
